The Intramuros Performance Tour

“Livin’ La Vida Imelda”, my one -man performance “tour” of the Cultural Center of the Philippines complex and 1970s Philippine history is BACK! Click on this sentence for all details and dates!

Wander with me around the walled city of Intramuros on a theatrical ride through the years 1571 until 1945. You’ll learn about Manila’s complex history as we laze under trees, snack on candy, and marvel at some of the oldest heritage structures in the Philippine archipelago. We’ll start our journey at the Fort Santiago by the Pasig River. We’ll see Plaza Moriones, the Manila Cathedral, the Plaza Roma and end our journey in front of the UNESCO world heritage site of San Agustin Church.

There will be illusions. There will be candy. There will be buggy rides and theatre. We’ll talk about Filipino society, politics, history, art, religion, along with other topics that might make you laugh, cry. or possibly take offence. It’s pure performance art in the guise of a “walking tour”.

This tour is suitable for strollers, slow walkers, wheelchairs, and leashed dogs. The tour is in English.

My shows and tours do not discriminate against age, gender, skin colour, taste in music or politicians. However, I am adamantly against bigots, humourless characters, corrupt politicians, and  hostile governments who try to steal my fish. Therefore, as of March 2018, Walk This Way will not entertain any government employee or diplomat from the People’s Republic of China. If Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte doesn’t have the guts to tell Xi Jinping that stealing our islands in the West Philippine Sea is an act of aggression, a violation against UNCLOS ruling, and simply unacceptable behaviour, than I’ll do it personally. Regular Chinese nationals who are not part of the PRC government machine are welcome of course.

NOTE: This MAY 2018, I will be performing ‘Living La Vida Imelda’ at the Mirror Studio on Kalayaan Street, Makati. It’s just as good as a historical tour of Manila, except that it will be done in a theater, with air conditioning, and drinks. The performance opens on May 11 and runs until June 16.
